Gracious Father in Heaven, you are the God who gives endurance to finish the journey before us, no matter what age we are. Thank you for being steadfast and unchanging. You are the God who encourages us and gives us a spirit of unity as we follow Jesus. Thank you Jesus for uniting the hearts of the seniors at Emmanuel Baptist Church, those who live at Emmanuel Village, Caleb Manor, and Senior's in Saskatoon in Your name, so together they will glorify You. Jesus there are several among us who are entering times of change and new challenges. Be with each one, drawing their heart and mind to focus on you, trusting completely in you. Let your light break forth within their daily life to let your healing come quickly. Jesus you are always before them and you are their rear guard. Holy Spirit, work within the hearts of older citizens in our world. Inspire them to leave a legacy of faith and prayer for all generations that remain after them. Join us to "Meet and Greet" others in our church family, Sunday June 14 , right after the second service in the Fellowship Hall. If you are in the third-quarter century - roughly between 50 - 75 years - come and meet others like you. This is a time for warm fellowship and getting to know others within our church family. Come and bring friends who, like you have passed the half-century mark. Cost: $5.00/person

On Wednesday June 17 , 2009, the Growing in Grace Committee would like to invite you on a day trip to the Quest at Christopher Lake. We will be joining the Adult Retreat for lunch, supper, and relaxation. This will be an opportunity to visit with friends, while enjoying the scenery around Christopher Lake, in Northern Saskatchewan. In the afternoon Percy Keith will lead a devotional time. We will meet at the church at 9:00 a.m. and the bus will leave at 9:10 a.m. The departure time from the camp will be around 6:00 p.m. arriving back in Saskatoon around 8:00 p.m. The cost is $25.00, please R.S.V.P before June 12, 2009. Psalm 40: 1-5 I waited patiently for the Lord; He inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord. Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie! You have multiplied, O Lord my God, your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us; none can compare with you! I will proclaim and tell of them, yet they are more than can be told. Heavenly Father we thank you and praise you for all that you have done for us. Thank you for your grace, mercy, and compassion that is always being poured out upon us moment by moment.
