Best of all Gifts

“The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other.” ―Burton Hillis My prayer and hope for the New Year is that I will have the privilege to meet others in our church community. Also, I pray each person who reads this post will be blessed completely by God's love. With Love, Robin

Christmas Eve Services--2009

I am sitting at my computer creating a poster for the Christmas Eve Service at Caleb Manor. As I reflect over the year, I am amazed at how quickly this year has passed. What I am grateful for is how God has been the center of all the goodness and love I have experienced through-out this year. I am totally blessed by all the people He has placed in my life. I am becoming sentimental again, and off track concerning why I was posting. On Christmas Eve at Emmanuel Baptist Church the times are: 6, 9, and 11 p.m. Check-out the Emmanuel web-page for more information. Over at Caleb Manor the service starts at 7 p.m. I will be helping Trevor Maylon at Caleb then will be helping out at Emmanuel for the 9 o'clock service. Merry Christmas Everyone. Love Robin

Banquet Week 2009

Banquet week at Emmanuel is a week full of fellowship and outreach events galore. Well in reality, fellowship and outreach events are threaded throughout the whole month of December at Emmanuel! The week of December 13th started out with the youth ministry having a banquet dinner on Tuesday, the children's ministry supper on Wednesday, and the seniors Growing in Grace Ministry lunch on Thursday. This year on Wednesday night, several ladies and youth helped wrap gifts for the “Be a Santa to a Senior” program promoted by Home Instead at Market Mall. It was wonderful to see all ages working together in an outreach event for the seniors in our city. During the coldest days of the month, poinsettia's were delivered to several seniors in our community. Thank you to all who helped deliver on these icy cold days. I would like to thank all the volunteers who helped with the Growing in Grace Banquet lunch and to those who came out on Wednesday night to help wr...

Growing in Grace Banquet

The banquet was well attended this year and as usual Bettye Collins and her team provided a satisfying and delicious turkey dinner with all the fix-in's. There were numerous treats collected for the men at Teen Challenge. Thank you to all who volunteered and to those who donated a sweet treat! Blessings and Merry Christmas!

Be a Santa to a Senior Program

It was a great night to come together as a group from Emmanuel to help our community be more compassionate to our seniors! Blessings, thank you, and love to all of our volunteers. My prayer this year: Joy to the World Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him room, And heaven and nature sing, And heaven and nature sing, And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing. Joy to the world, the Savior reigns! Let men their songs employ; While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy. No more let sins and sorrows grow, Nor thorns infest the ground; He comes to make His blessings flow Far as the curse is found, Far as the curse is found, Far as, far as, the curse is found. He rules the world with truth and grace, And makes the nations prove The glories of His righteousness, And wonders of His love, And wonders of His love, And wonders, wonders, of His love. By Isaac...
