Prayer Rumination

I have missed the last few weeks of writing a prayer for reflection and mediation, which I do not want to get in the habit of doing. Prayer is our direct line to our Heavenly Father, and I believe He desires for his people to be in constant moment by moment thought and communication with Him. Today, my heartache is for seniors who are in or entering a winter season of their life, and for their families and friends who are walking along side them. Heart Prayer for Senior’s in our world: Jesus you are our refuge and strength in this world and ever-present help during times of distress, change, and trouble. Holy Spirit touch and blow over the hearts of the senior population in this world, drawing them close to your heart. For those who have never accepted you as their Savior, I ask soften their hearts to receive you now. Be present to those who are lonely, confused, and full of fear. Your word says, when we turn to you we will not fear, even if the earth gives...

Wake Up, Shake Up at the Quest

Over the next few weeks I will be posting several thoughts from the last week of events that took place within the senior's ministry at Emmanuel. Up at camp we had an early morning Wake up, Shake up session. It was one of the highlights from the retreat. Blessings, Robin

Thursday Prayer Rumination

This week during the Thursday prayer rumination (pondering and contemplating) take time to consider how amazing and awesome our God is. Spend 5 minutes singing a portion of the hymn “All Creatures of Our God and King” by St. Francis of Assisi (this is provided for you below) as a worshipful response to our Great God. All creatures of our God and King Lift up your voice and with us sing, Alleluia! Alleluia! Thou burning sun with golden beam, Thou silver moon with softer gleam! O praise Him! O praise Him! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Thou rushing wind that art so strong Ye clouds that sail in Heaven along, O praise Him! Alleluia! Thou rising moon, in praise rejoice, Ye lights of evening, find a voice! O praise Him! O praise Him! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! And all ye men of tender heart, Forgiving others, take your part, O sing ye! Alleluia! Ye who long pain and sorrow bear, Praise God and on Him cast your care! O praise Him! O praise Him! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Let all things...

Missionary News

On May 28, at Caleb Manor Chapel, Taya Raine spoke concerning her work project with Samaritan's Purse in Liberia. Taya helps rural communities with their water situations and sanitation issues. Her presentation was informative concerning how Samaritan’s Purse assists villages in having clean water and educates the locals on how to use the Bio Sand Filter . You can check out the Samaritan’s Purse Website for more information. Prayer: Taya leaves for Liberia on June 10, for another year of work. Pray the Holy Spirit will protect and guide her every step of the way. Continue to Pray for health and safety. Medical assistance is hard to receive in Liberia, if Taya's breaks a leg or arm it is a major issue. Prayer for the ministry aspect of her job: Liberia is a very dark place, with lots of witchcraft and superstition. Witchcraft is deeply ingrained within communities. The majority of citizens call themselves Christian, but as a local saying goes, “Christianity in Liber...

Community Prayer May 31, 2009

Triune God, we come before you with awe and thanksgiving for your great story. Your word tells us that before you made the world, you loved us and chose us in Christ to be faultless in your eyes. Your plan has always been to adopt us into your family, to purchase our freedom through the blood of the Son, and to identify us as your own by giving us the Holy Spirit, who speaks to us deep in our hearts and assures us that we are your children. As your children, we are all members of Christ’s body, and your word tells us that we belong to each other. Thank you for the expression of belonging that have been demonstrated within this community of faith in recent days…. For the meals that have been prepared and delivered, Fro the notes of encouragement that have been written and sent, And for the helping hand that has been offered to lighten a load. Thanks you for times of celebration and laughter… for honouring lives well lived for recognizing achievements for sending each other out with ...
